This is a space-themed game that is perfect for small group or partners. It practices cloze sentences (fill in the blank), using high frequency words and CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words.
Intended grade level: Pre-K, K, 1st
Directions: Place all cards in a storage container or bag (space-themed if possible). Player 1 chooses a card. He/she reads the sentence and chooses the correct sight word to complete the sentence. If answered correctly, the player keeps the card. If answered incorrectly, the card is returned. If an alien card is drawn, a card may be taken from another player. If a star card is drawn, the player may take another turn. Play continues until an Earth card is drawn, ending the game. The player with the most cards is the winner.
This is very creative! I wonder if you would make one using 2nd grade sight words ~ let me know if you do. I would definitely buy it! Thanks for sharing
