Set up a basket or trash can and tell the students that you are going to try to shoot and make the basket 5 times. Have them count it down with you. Then as a class create the FDP Chart (fraction, decimal, percent) for the number of times that you made it.
Now split the class into groups of five or six and tell them that they are going to do the same thing, but they will each shoot 8 times. The shooter will become the catcher. The students will count down the shooter's points. After the shooter is done everyone will record the results on their own Paper Hoops sheet. Each group member will individually work out the FDP chart. After all students have finished working on the results of the shooter they will compare answers. If someone has made a mistake they will discuss the work and determine what happened. Only after all work is correct the next shooter will go ahead and shoot.
After all results have been compared the group will sit down together and answer the questions below.
