Introduce kids to international Christmas customs with this easy craft. On December 6, many European countries celebrate St. Nicholas Day. The night before this holiday, children leave their shoes out for St. NIcholas to fill with treats while they sleep. In France, children leave out shoes (not stockings) on December 24 for Santa. Kids in Hispanic countries leave out their shoes on January 6 for Los Reyes Majos (the Three Kings.) Print off the template, and children can simply color, cut, fold, and tape their way to creating their very own holiday shoe. Leave them out overnight and see who will fill them with treats!
