This item is for the student to look at a paragraph and analyze it from a variety of perspectives. Once the student copies the paragraph, they have to look at their supporting details, their waffle words, their verb use and the like. They then have another student write a one sentence summary to see if the message of the paragraph was conveyed.

I have taught full time for over 12 years, and subbed for two before that. I designed our high school ELA curriculum almost from scratch, with the help of many dedicated people in my ISD. Teaching five diffeent grades each day has given me more experience in these 12 years than I would have received if I taught only one or two.
