Early in my career I came across the idea to create a Halloween parody of the traditional Christmas song "The Twelve Days of Christmas." Through the years I expanded that idea to other holidays and seasons, sometimes doing more than one in a given school year. Besides having fun creating fun new song lyrics, the class created great word lists that could be used with other holiday/season activities.
