Here are 3 free partner games for your young students. They'll get lots of practice reading and writing the words on your own Word Wall. Although aimed at first and second grade, these activities are easily extended to kindergarten (early sight words) and third through fifth grade (subject area Word Walls and even the Fifty Nifty Thrifty). Included are Secret Square, Penny Toss, and Box Full of Donuts.

After all of the boxes are filled with words, roll the die. Let's say you roll a 4 - then the player who wrote a word in box 4 wins the round and marks a tally in their score box. Hope that helps!

I've been teaching for 26 years, with the majority of my experience being in first grade. I taught Reading Recovery for 5 years, and that experience has impacted every day of my teaching since! For the past 10 years, I've enjoyed teaching a first grade literacy intervention class.
