This activity involves the whole class and is a nice break from workbooks or lectures on identifying parts of speech.
My students love this activity because it is interactive and sparks some lively debates. It is also an exercise in cooperation and working as a group toward a common goal.
The words strips range from simple to more difficult. Choose the categories and words that fit your grade level. I use this successfully in elementary grade levels as well as in my beginning college level courses.
