This 8 page document includes everything you will need to teach the parts of speech and/or to introduce poetry. It includes a description of nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs. I also include comprehensive lists of example nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs. As the assignment, I have included a copy of Michael Ondaatje's poem, "Sweet Like a Crow," but I have removed about half of the words and replaced them with blanks and the appropriate part of speech that students need to fill in. Students get the opportunity to recreate the poem.
