It's a pasta and pizza party! This collection of TWO learning center games is a fantastic way to teach and review similes and metaphors. These fun games are aligned to Common Core Standards RL.4 and RI.4
One game requires students to identify and sort metaphor and simile pasta. The second game requires students to apply what they have learned by matching each metaphor and simile with its meaning inside of colorful pizza boxes.

A cute way to review similes and metaphors. I would love an extra page of blanks where I could place my own similes and metaphors OR even better, have the students create their own to test their classmates.

I have been teaching for 15 years and have presented at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and Illinois Association of Gifted Children (IAGC)conventions. During this time, I have worked with students from elementary to college level. Currently, I serve as an instructional coach and have experience working with students in kindergarten through eighth grade. My creative partner has a background in high school and college level mathematics ranging from Algebra I to Calculus 3 as well as Differential Equations.
