One of my students' favorite animals to research would have to be penguins. Among other facts, they are always amazed to find that not all penguins live in cold climates. This little writing mini provides resources for students across grade levels. Whether you are writing simple paragraphs or five paragraph essays, this unit will provide you with all of the necessary resources to guide your instruction and create a purpose for your research. As a fun bonus, at the conclusion of your research, the students will create a fun little penguin craft.

I was wondering if it would be possible to have you provide all of your pages that you did for penguins, only with a __________ line in place of the word "Penguins", and then I could still use the pages with the kiddos and their animal of choice from our Zoobook collection? Of course, they wouldn't be able to do the darling penguin craftivity, but maybe they could just create their own animal!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Subject Area:
During my short teaching career, I have never stayed in one place too long! :) I've been teaching for six years - 4 years in 1st grade,1 year in 2nd, and have now moved on to 3rd grade just this year. Looping has presented many challenges, but I have enjoyed all of the wonderful experiences that this model of teaching can offer. I adore my job and am always looking for ways to improve my instruction in the classroom. I have quickly learned that when you make learning magical, that is when it truly sticks for the "long haul". I enjoy creating resources that bring learning to life in my classroom, and I am so excited to be able to offer a little piece of that to you here on TPT. Happy Teaching! :)
