This simple memory device helps students recall what perimeter is! Perry the Perimeter bug loves to prepare for annual bug races! He runs around the track, all day long. Use this simple song to the tune of the Farmer in the Dell to help them remember that perimeter is the distance around the outside of the shape. Two pages suitable for classroom posters.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Subject Area:
I've taught elementary school for nine years. I spent eight years in fourth grade, and this is my first year in third! I'm a past president of the El Paso Reading Council, the local branch of the International Reading Association, and I'm also a Teacher-Consultant for the West Texas Writing Project, the local site of the National Writing Project. I love to teach all contents, but my heart is in literacy!
