This unit contains 19 pages of Chemistry fun! The unit focuses on the periodic table. Students learn to determine numbers of protons, neutrons, and electrons, as well as atomic number, mass, and charge. The unit starts with a scavenger hunt where students get introduced to the periodic table. Next, a series of worksheets provides practice on the skill mentioned above. This is followed by a review "Periodic Table Race" and a quiz. Next, students learn about metals, nonmetals, and metalloids through worksheets, activities, and a lab. There is a Venn diagram where students look at the different characteristics of metals, nonmetals, and metalloids. In the lab, the teacher provides 10 substances and the students determine if they are metals, nonmetals, or metalloids, based on their properties. This is followed by a review worksheet and a quiz.
