This activity explores the major Permian extinction, where 97% of the marine life and 70% of the terrestrial life was killed off. This activity uses graham crackers to explore the reasons for this major extinction event that occurred in the past. The various questions ask students to critically think about how the movements of Earth's tectonic plates completely changed the living conditions for all living things on Earth.
