Teaching persuasive writing? This 9-page document contains materials to teach a middle school or lower level high school group how to write persuasively. A wonderful way to end a unit on Romeo and Juliet, students will find it easy to come up with ideas from reading the NY Times article that is attached. The pre-writing process follows my usual 3-step method of brainstorming, blocking body paragraphs, and then outlining introductions and conclusions. Also included in the packet is the directions and an example essay written on a different topic. It is important to note that this is merely a student packet, and not directions for the teacher on how to teach persuasive writing or how to grade it. The packet is extremely helpful for students as it is easy to follow. Thank you for you interest.

As a New York State teacher of 7 years, I have come to truly understand the requirements of modern-day education. Currently a high school teacher of grades 9,11, 12, I do have experience in grades 6, 7, and 8. A 1 students to 1 computer initiative in my classroom, and the use of the latest modern technology, sets the bar in my school for 21st century learning. My age and recent tenure award have allowed me to have the fresh knowledge of successful educational practices, and creativity that will intrigue today's student.
