This PowerPoint will introduce your students to the persuasive techniques of Bandwagon, Peer Pressure, Repetition, Testimonial, Transfer, Loaded Words, and Appeal to Logic. Each slide of the PowerPoint contains the definition of the persuasive technique, along with an example and explanation from advertising. The ads featured are from products students are familiar with, such as Sketchers, Gatorade, AT&T Wireless, and Subway. Students will appreciate the connection to their everyday life!
Finding resources to teach all of the persuasive strategies is very difficult. This is the best resource I have found and used in my classroom. While I did add a few more strategies to it that my standards and tests cover...it helped me immensely.

I just purchased your file and am very disappointed because I can't open it. It says Power Point but it is saved as a Word file with a weird ppt.doc ending that is not recognized by either Word nor Power Point.
I'm sorry you're having trouble with this file! It's one of my bestselling products and no one has brought this issue to my attention before.
I just downloaded the file on both a Mac and a PC and it worked correctly; however, I did notice that when I selected "open" instead of "save," it did open as a Word Document and was completely unreadable. Try selecting "save" instead.
If you're still having issues with it, leave your e-mail address, and I will send you a copy. I hope that helps!
