This is by far one of the most amazing patriotic units I have seen. I love the thorough and detailed activities laid in the unit. This was perfect for teaching my second grade friends about the voting and election process.

Hi Cara :)
I love your work! I was wondering if you would possibly list for purchase your telling time activity from this unit (Presidents) seperately for purchase? I would love to use it this week for teaching about time. If not, that's ok, but I thought I'd ask...Thank you for your consideration! :)
Boo!!!! So sorry for the inconvenience!!! Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Reader installed. If you're working on a Mac, you need to open the file in READER and not in preview!!! If none of this works, contact me at thefirstgradeparade@gmail.com. You can always contact the TpT help desk, too!
Blessings to you!
I wanted to know if would be interested at all at making some short video lessons for kids for our website, TinyGrads.com. We'll also post them on our YouTube channel which gets quite a lot traffic (over 40,000 total views a day).
You could give a plug to your site or TpT page as well, something like, "Hello this is Ms. Cara from Teachers Pay Teachers. I'm happy to make this little lesson for TinyGrads today on..." something like that...
We'd also be happy to offer $30 per video for your time. :)
They don't need to be long (2 or 3 minutes), or complicated. We'll provide the music, intro graphics, etc. I think it would be great! But I'm sure you're time is really pressed, so we'd really understand if you weren't able to do it.
Just thought we would check. Let us know what you think!
Hi Peter! Thanks so much for considering me for this opportunity! To be totally honest, my plate is a little full right now...overloaded might be a more accurate description! HA!! I'd love to be considered for any future projects you might have, but unfortunately I am a little over-committed right now. Thanks for understanding! Blessings to you!

Wonderful unit! The page for predicting font doesn't come out too clearly. Everything else was great. Is there a way to make it clearer? Thank you.
How weird is that?!? I'm not sure why that's happening?! You can email me at thefirstgradeparade@gmail.com and I'll see what we can do. Blessings to you!

I love this unit, but my download had many black marks on it and the words on the word sort were not printed. Can you help me with this.
This actually sounds like a printer issue! So sorry this is giving you problems. Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Reader installed. If you're working on a Mac, you need to open the file in READER and not in preview!!! If none of this works, contact the TpT help desk! Thanks!
Blessings to you!
This was wonderful. I am in the middle of doing it with my k-1st class. We are going to see a play of Duck for President next Tuesday!
Anyways, There seems to be a problem on the paper dimensions for the American flag craftivity. I believe you want the white paper strips (the flag stripes) to be 11X1 not 9X1.
I had a parent helper cut everything, so I hadn't caught the mistake. We were in the middle of it (me and my 23 cherubs), so I decided we must need the paper to go the other way, but then the blue squares were wayyyy to big. We made do, but please do fix it for the next person. :-)
Wooops! Thanks for catching that for me!! I'm sorry if it caused you any troubles :) I appreciate you letting me know!! Thanks so much!! Blessings to you!

Hi Cara,
I run the blog Susie Homeschooler at http://susiehomeschooler.blogspot.com/. I love this unit and I would love to showcase it on my blog for all to see within the next week or so. I would love to discuss with you further if you are interested in giving away this download for free to one of my followers.
Thanks,
Susan

I teach fourth grade. Do you have this for older kids? Love the voter's registration cards and use of read alouds.
Hey there! Unfortunately, I don't have this available for the older grades. In all honesty, I don't know much about the intermediate grade levels and wouldn't feel comfortable creating materials for subjects with which I'm unfamiliar :) I'm sorry for the inconvenience!!! Blessings to you!

Can I please have another download because the clock, sums and the synonym pages are smeared?

I noticed some typos on page 30. The two questions at the top are the same (I think one is supposed to ask which coin will hold the least?) and the dime and quarter boxes say penny and nickel. This is a great unit!
Whoops! THANK YOU for telling me!!! I will correct that RIGHT.NOW and upload the edited version. Check back in just a little bit to download that again!!! Thank you!! Blessings to you!
I just purchased your Pint-Sized Presidential Fun packet. It is wonderful. We are working on an end-of-the-year project (parents will be invited into the classroom) on our Social Studies unit "Symbols, Holidays, and Heroes". Your "America" blog has helped me out immensely as well. We made the Abraham Lincoln and wrote acrostics for the word LIBERTY to go inside the hat. We also made a patriotic windsock similar to yours. We will be using all your centers from the Presidential packet (parents will be playing them with the students) Just an FYI, I noticed on the "Predicting, estimating & area Working with Coins" worksheet that underneath the picture of a dime the questions state "How many drops do you think the penny will hold?" and "How many drops did the penny actually hold?" The same for the quarter (the questions say nickel).
THANKS for sharing. I admire your creativity, the beauty of your work, and the time you put into these packets. Oh and don't let me forget your sense of humor. I'm a newly devoted follower. Good luck with your move and job search.
I've been teaching for 10 years. I spent 7 years teaching Kindergarten and then moved up to 2nd grade and loved it! I didn't know what I was missing. A year later I moved to 1st grade and I'll never look back. It's the best!
