Reading the Magic Tree House book Pirates Past Noon??? The Glyph Girls have the perfect companion product for you! This project neatly combines art, reading, and creative writing. Each student will create their own unique pirate to display their writing. Multiple writing options to choose from.
We've also included a Read and Respond packet for Pirates Past Noon. The packet includes a page for each chapter of the book. This will work wonderfully for a reader response assignment for guided reading groups, teacher read aloud, or independent reading. You can choose either primary or regular lines.
Don't have time to read the book? There are several writing ideas to choose from that will work even if your class hasn't read it. Have your students create a pirate and let their imaginations run wild!! Detailed directions and photos are included.

We absolutely loved this glyph! We personalized the pirate by changing the colors of different parts of the pirate.

Holy gucamole! THis was the best tool for the beginning of the year in my room. We started with this book study as a whole class. My theme is pirates this year and I was dressed as a pirate when we started the unit! The students found it easy to follow and loved being able to draw pictures!

I like the glyph but I didn't find a way to individualize it. Like if you want to be a pirate put a hat on, and so on. I love the written responses.

I'm so sorry! However, I'm glad my thirdsters are that smart!!! I can look over the packet and give you detailed info tomorrow, if needed, but "Polly" is "Molly" in one of the later chapters and "Jack" is sometimes "Jake". Hope this helps! :)
