I have been teaching a long time and I always have great end-of-the-year test scores. One reason is because I do a 5 Minute Check daily with my students. I hand them out at the first of class so there will be no time for mischief. The students complete them, then we spend another 5-10 minutes going over them. This strand of 5 Minute Checks are made for a Place Value Unit. There are 15 of these, including reviews where all elements, (place value, comparing and ordering, and rounding) are combined, and a 5 Minute Check test to be taken after all other 5 Minute Checks have been completed. I have combined them so they do not take up 15 pages. There are 2 -3 Five Minute Checks on each page, with 4 - 6 questions on each. I have also included the Answer Keys for each.
This is a quick and efficient way to see daily who is still struggling, or if we need to regroup and do some more practice on the standard.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Subject Area:
I have been teaching for the last 18 years. I have taught 4th grade for the last 11 years, teaching all subjects. I have a passion for Math, and have been allowed to teach it exclusively for the last few years. I also taught 6th grade math/social studies/science in a middle school before switching gears to the elementary school. I have a Masters of Education, am currently working on my Specialist Degree, and am passionate about teaching. I live and breathe it!
