At the beginning of our school year, my 3rd graders learn about place value up the 100,000 place. To keep it fresh in their mind, I have created this Place Value Bingo game that asks them to recall the name of each place value space (up to 100,000). These are set up to print on index cards!
How to play:
Ask students to draw 6 horizontal lines with a comma after the third one. Each line represents a different place value space.
Ask students to use the digits 0-9 and put one digit on each line. They can use a digit multiple times if they would like.
Once students have placed a digit on each line one of 2 things can happen 1)shuffle the cards and start calling out what the cards say or 2)have students read their 6 digit number to a friend to practice reading them correctly and then play.
The student who gets 3 digits in a row will call out "Place Value Bingo!". The game then starts over.
Ask Sarah Ragland a question. They will receive an automated email and will return to answer you as soon as possible.
