This is a Science Research Project/Expository Writing assignment that I did with my third graders. We researched using this site: http://www.kids-and-space.com/sites/venus.htm . The students adored using the Internet to research and then drawing pictures and writing expository paragraphs. I covered two subjects with one project.

Disappointed, this did not provide an outline for the paragraph and the project was basically instructions for the students to go to the computer and research.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Subject Area:
I've been teaching since 2000. I taught sheltered 6th grade in a low-income district near Chicago for 4 years, and 3rd and 4th grade for two years. I also taught 2nd and 3rd grade summer school. I earned National Board Certification in 2008. I currently work as an ESL/ELL specialist teacher for K-5. I do both small group (pull-out) teaching as well as co-teaching in regular classrooms.
