Included is a Plant Cell Structures and Functions PowerPoint, a plant cell diagram blackline, a plant cell vocabulary sheet, and an animal and plant cell compare and contrast worksheet. (Included is a ppt and pptx version)
I created this PowerPoint lesson and I designed a Cell Diagram Blackline to go with the PowerPoint. I created a way for the students to learn the parts of cells without just labeling a diagram.
The Cell Blackline is just a blank outline of the cell.
The PowerPoint then gives them the nickname and function of each organelle and then each organelle has a slide that shows them the location of that organelle.
Each student has color pencils and as they learn about each organelle, they write the information about that organelle on the vocabulary sheet and then they would draw, color each organelle and then label.
As you go through the PowerPoint the students draw and color each organelle, one at a time. This also gives time for discussion and questions about each structure and function.
At the end they would have a complete color diagram of the cellwith labels, that they walked through and created step by step.
My class really enjoyed the presentation and they were engaged throughout the lesson!
