This is called the Lewis and Clark plant expedition project as a means to bring history into the biology classroom (cross teaching opportunity). This project asks students to work in cooperative groups to collect and identify plants, at least one from a different phyla, and to also add information about plant characteristics in either a poster format or a journal format. It was a good way for the kids to learn about plants in a light hearted cooperative way. This item comes with a rubric attached.
