This isn't a new idea, but it's something that I cannot live without in my grade one class of beginning writers! Students bring their word wall to me open at the beginning sound page (ex: page for the word can). I then point them in the general direction of the word (ex: third row), then using the dominant sounds they hear in the word, they match it to a word in that row. 90% of the time students locate it on their own! This booklet has sight words from grade one, two and three. I laminate them and put them on a ring for easy flipping. Each of my students have their own pocket word wall, and have it hanging on the side of their desk for quick and easy access. I hope this helps you as much as it helps me!

This is an awesome product! The kids can have their own personal wordwall! I see that the words were mainly taken from the top 500 high frequency words list and is made in such a creative way. The only thing I would change is to use more of the harder words for my 3rd graders. Thank you so much! I'm so excited to use this!

I absolutly LOVE this! I have implemented the idea of each student having their own hanging from thier desk and now I don't have to spell out e-v-e-r-y word for them -- They have OWNERSHIP!!!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught Kindergarten, grade one, grade two, grade three, grade four, grade five and grade six. I have my Reading Specialist and have done projects with the Ministy of Education and University of Toronto. But, by far my favourite is a grade one/two split grade class. This is my fourth year as a grade one/two teacher. The best part of teaching little ones is that I get to watch them turn into readers and writers right before my eyes. Magic!
