In "Pocketful of Money" children choose a small handful of plastic coins from a bag and draw and label the coins in a pocket on the recording sheet. They will use their skills to identify the value of each coin as they count and record the total value. Easy to follow directions are provided so children can complete the activity independently in a center.
Students may also cut and paste pictures of coins (provided) or use coin stamps if desired.
This alternative to a typical worksheet was created by Terry Palmieri and has been used by 1st and 2nd graders with great success and enthusiasm.
