This activity is a follow up to reading the poem, 'The Folk Who Live in Backward Town'. In the book Bill Martin Big Book of Poetry. You don't need the book to do the lesson! I wrote the poem on a large piece of paper and taped it up! Discussed rhyming verses. Students were give the handout to complete the poem themselves using rhyming too, adding their own special touches. If it's backward town, what else might be unusual?! Student complete their lines and draw a picture on the paper to match! Super fun and engaging.
