Poem of the Week will help you tap into students' natural interest in poetry to promote language development and stimulate curiosity about the world around them. There are poems about seasons and special days, poems about favorite animals such as bug, bears and penguins, and poems that center around themes such as friendship, weather, colors and plants. Poetry pointers and teaching tips are included, as well as templates for some of the suggested activities. This book does have some writing (my name) on the front cover.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Grades Taught:
Subject Area:

This is my 14th year of teaching. I taught kindergarten for several years, and for the past few years I have been teaching reading for second and third grade. I have always loved children's literature, from picture books to chapter books to young adult, and my love of reading is one of the main reasons I became a teacher. I have worked with students up to fifth grade in after-school tutoring and enrichment programs, and I worked with seventh and eighth graders as a volleyball coach.
