Paul Fleischman's Poems for Two Voices collection is a favorite with my students year after year. Not only do his books promote a love of poetry, encourage creativity with writing structure, and reenforce reading fluency, but kids adore reading these poems aloud!
This activity is one I have developed to bring the "Poems for Two Voices" concept into writing. This activity can be used independently, or as a part of a larger unit in any subject. As you will see in the document, I last utilized this activity as a reflection on a building wide Art Integration assembly, where students listened to a Brazilian Jazz trio. Enjoy!
