This set of three worksheets contains three different poems with comprehension questions.

"Annabel Lee" by Edgar Allan Poe (7 questions)
"The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost (5 questions)
"I Know Why the Caged Bird Sing" by Maya Angelou (7 questions)

The comprehension questions are short answer. Each poem has several words students are likely to have trouble with defined at the bottom of the worksheet. The poems are numbered for easy reference.

Great to use as a quiz on reading poetry, a starting place for a literary analysis, or practice reading poetry.

I just bought this and tried to download this and it will not let me open it in windows. Any advice? It asks me to convert the file and all I get is a bunch of boxes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not sure if my last email went. It asked me to log in when I sent it. What kind of questions does this lesson have? Are they strictly comprehension, or do they include recognizing and explaining figurative language and sound devices?

Subject Area:

I have taught for six years at a 9-12 rural school. Because I teach at a low-income school, I have had to create many of my own resources. I truly enjoy bringing my creativity into the class room and creating new ways to motivate and teach my students.
