This is a three week poetry writing unit that covers acrostic, concrete (shape), What Am I, haiku, cinquain, limerick, and I Am poems. The focus is Popping Poetry. This unit includes minilessons, materials needed for each lesson, internet resources, posters, graphic organizers, final copy sheets, teacher and student modeled writing examples, and a front cover for students poetry pieces.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I started my career in teaching in the second grade. I taught second grade for four years. I moved to teaching fourth grade. While teaching 4th grade, I got my Masters in Reading and I currently am an Intervention Specialist. I primarily assist at-risk students in reading. I also provide additional assistance to students in math as well.
