Polar bears are amazing animals! They are a great example of how an animal can be perfectly adapted to its habitat. Of course, many children may have not ever even seen a polar bear, let alone know anything about them. This series of five easy experiments is designed for even very young children to be able to understand something about how animals have special physical adaptations suited to their environment. A list of materials as well as detailed instructions are provided for each activity. The materials needed are few and easy to find. I have used these experiments for the last few years in my pre-k classroom, and even children aged four or five can understand what is happening. We usually do these activities as part of our unit on winter animals - we set them up as stations and have some grown up helpers. Or, you could pick just one experiment, or do them all, but on different days. These activities make the science come alive for the children! If you like this product, please rate it for me. Thanks!
