Overview of Project:
In this project, students will research and present information about a local business in their community. Throughout the project, students will learn about entrepreneurialism and the benefits for working for specific companies, such as scholarship programs, volunteer opportunities, and retirement plans.
The purpose of this activity is to help students understand the foundation of a business, and how a company maintains success and creates growth. Students will become aware of ways specific businesses support the community by sponsoring programs, creating volunteer opportunities for employees, and making conscious efforts to improve the environment.
I have included a model Power Point Presentation for the teacher to present as an example of what is expected from students. To view a shorter version of this Power Point, take a look at the Free Download Preview.
When I completed this activity with my students, they were so involved and fascinated with the aspects of their business. They became more aware of the importance of applying to quality businesses, especially if scholarships are offered.
