Prediction is the reading strategy that involves more than trying to figure out what happens next. It is a strategy that is used before, during, and after reading. This app will shows your students how to monitor their own thinking and make connections between text and their own experiences. Predicting allows students to think about what they are going to read based on clues from what they have read as well as what they know. It is an ongoing active process that engages the reader. This app points out how students make predictions every day, and how they can use that same strategy and apply it to what they read.

Were you able to download the .zip file? If so, double click on that file and a folder should open. Inside that folder you will see the .swf file.
If you do see the .zip file but still can't open, please send me an email at barb@lessonpop.com. I'll send you a different file.

During my 24 years of teaching, I have had a variety of positions and have taught grades K-6. My favorite grade to teach is fourth. Developing curriculum for a study skills/social skills was the most challenging and dropout prevention was the most rewarding. I have also been a reading trainer for my school district and worked as an online instructional designer developing eLearning content for teachers.
