Often my students spend valuable class time inserting text boxes, setting up lay out, etc. rather than focusing on and fully digesting the content of the assigned power point. Using this template helps students focus on what is most important.
This 15 slide power point covers food chains in 8 biomes and serves as is a template teachers can use to build their own presentations or provide to students to learn these life science concepts in a hands on manner that provides graphics and graphic organizers. A sample slide with a savanna food chain and biome picture helps visual learners understand the assignment.
Directions for inserting graphics and text to describe the desert, rain forest, tundra, taiga, ocean, wetlands and forest biomes are part of the slide show as are links to websites with information and graphics.
Additionally, links to interactive games and activities to reinforce food chain and biome concepts are included.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Besides the traditional classroom I have taught in the prison system, residential mental health facilities and in theaters across the country. Currently I work in alternative education at John F. Kennedy Middle School in Suffolk, Virginia. I teach English and science for grades 4-8.
