Students will be introduced to the different policies of the presidents Roosevelt, Taft,a nd Wilson during the American Age of Imperialism. In the middle of the lecture, students will be given activity materials to match the appropriate presidents to their policies, actions, and relevant quotes. All materials are provided at end of slides for activity. Just print, cut, and distribute to student groups. Directions are provided on one of the presentation slides. Lecture continues after activities asking students to compare policies and to relate them to modern U.S. foreign policy. Obama speech regarding the U.S. role in world events given in response to his Nobel Peace Prize is linked on final informational slide. Also included flashback, bellringer, and exit slip. Flashback and BR relate to previous day's lesson on imperialism.
