Use this resource to quickly and easily create your own visual writing rubric to help your primary students self assess their work. No drawing required! :)
This resources contains:
4 hand drawn/ written examples of writing pieces that range from needs work to great. Note: These are hand drawn and scanned into the computer and give a "done by a student" look.
2 Different Title Options- In for colors each
2 Different Rating Systems (numbers or words)- In four colors each.
Click on the preview to see everything that is included.
From printing out to putting your rubric together should only take about 10 minutes! Just print, put on a poster board, add your title and your ratings, laminate, and hang on your wall!
When students are writing, they can compare their work to the samples to see how they are doing.
*The name and date are left blank so you can fill in whatever name and date you'd like.

Students refer to this rubric often, self assessing themselves. I leave it up in the room and all I do is point to it and then I hear lots of "I am a 2, I need to . . . ". It's great!
