Are there specific lessons with this packet? I was wondering if it was something one of my paras could follow?

The packets walk the kids through the steps of the writing process in a simplified way - a brainstorming map, a place to draft, a checklist to look for editing & revising mistakes, a place to conference with a partner and a place to conference with their teacher. Each routine is repeated for the 9 prompts, so that kids get used to each part of the writing process.

I think it could easily be left with a para. I designed it to use as an individual writing station for my 1st graders and trained them to work through all the steps and then ask for a conference.

Try this Free Information Prompt to see if it would work for your paras in your classroom.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I currently teach a mixed age class of 3rd and 4th graders at the International School of Morocco. Previously, I have taught 1st grade and 3rd grade, as well as teaching all grade levels in the computer lab at a Title I school in Georgia. I have taught both high income and low-income school students, and find that no matter where I teach, most kids need to look at every problem from 12 different angles. Although it is challenging, it is also incredibly rewarding.
