A bookmark or desk tag to help guide students through solving a word problem. A lot of students go straight to reading the problem and just try to solve it without taking into consideration what the problem means. These steps will help students take time to understand the problem before they solve it. This is a good strategy for testing as well as lower level students who need extra help with problem solving.
