This math partner game is a great way for students to practice multiplication and review number sense strategies. Students use 10-grid cards (or playing cards with J, Q, and K removed). Partner 1 takes 4 cards, and chooses 3 cards of the 4 to make a 2-digit by 1-digit multiplication problem (or 3-digit if they pull a 10). Both partners write the problem in the traditional way, as well as partial product under the person's name that drew the cards. Both solve the problems and compare answers. Partner 2 then takes his turn... the goal is to have the largest product. Use , or = in the square in the middle of the work boxes to show who had the greater product.
