This file contains everything you need to organize the movement of your students during your literacy block!
Each pre-filled literacy map card contains 6 stations: listening lane, word work, book browsing, writer's way, buddy reading, and guided group. These stations are numbered according to when the student should be at that particular location. There are 6 cards per color. Each color represents a different level for the guided group. For example, all of the red colored cards have the guided group picture listed for station one. The order of the literacy stations will vary on each card. This allows students at literacy stations to be grouped heterogeneously, while allowing you to meet homogeneously with guided reading groups.
Matching station posters are also included. There are two choices for each station.
**You are given the option to insert your own text on the blank cards of this packet. That way you can label your literacy maps and posters with whichever station names you like. Programmable posters are also included.**
This packet includes:
-Introductory Letter
-Learning Map Explanation
-36 Learning Maps (6 of each color)
-12 Station Posters (2 versions of each station)
-36 Programmable Learning Maps
-12 Programmable Station Posters (2 versions of each station)
I hope this helps your literacy block run smoothly!
I really like these! I want to follow Daily 5, but I am thinking about not doing the choice component. I would love to hear if you also follow Daily 5, yet have this structure in your classroom as well?

I love this system, but I have noticed one problem during my rotations. It seems that the cards with the guided reading group in the #3 spot is not programmed like the other 5 colored cards. There are a few of the cards that have the same center activities at the same exact time, so I have 2 or more of the light blue group people attending centers together instead of spreading out around the classroom in different centers. For instance, I only have 3 kids attending the same group if I leave this rotation card out. However, if I include to use this set of cards...I have 3 kids in some centers and 6 in other centers. It seems that the light blue set has some matching pictures. I hope this makes sense. If not, please let me know and I will try to explain it again. I currently do not use the light blue set and do not see a group during rotation #3 for reading, due to the number of kids it places in an area at the time....but I would love to have a corrected set, so I can use them. Thanks!
LOVE THIS PRODUCT!
I noticed another buyer had the same question as me. Since I do Read to Self at another time too, will you change that picture to something with a pocket chart on it? We no longer have a listening station either so I would also like that one to have a computer on it, as your other customer suggested. I am happy to pay extra for your hard work.
I am so glad you like it! I am out-of-town right now but will email you as soon as I can. Will you please email me so I'll have your address? Mary.lirette@yahoo.com
I love this product but I am having trouble getting it to print on the programmable text pages. After I type it all out and I see what I've typed on the computer screen when I print it, it still comes out blank. Can you help me?
Oh no! I haven't heard of that problem before. :( Have you tried contacting tech support? They are wonderful! Hopefully they can help you resolve it. Let me know if you can not find a solution.

Can you tell me what stations are listed in your packet? Thanks!
Hi Mary, I purchased this product months ago and still haven't had the opportunity to try it! Is there anyway that you'd be able to change the read to self picture something with a computer. I have my kids read independently at a different time in the day, not during reading time. I'd really appreciate it! Then these would be perfect for my classroom! Thanks! My e-mail address is tennisluvr4lyf@hotmail.com
I'll see what I can do. I'll try my best to get it done for you this week. I'll email it to you when I finish it. :)

Do you follow the Daily 5 and Cafe? I'm planning to use your cards (I already have them) because I still want to have "control" and have a set rotation of how they do things (GASP!). I guess that means I am not totally doing Daily 5, but I plan to follow it other than the kids picking what they want. What are your thoughts on this? Please feel free to email me directly at happyhagys@aol.com

I follow your blog!! I love it! Here is mine (I'm a newbie!)

Hi Amber! Yes, I follow the Daily 5 and Cafe but make modifications to it. For example, as you see in the literacy maps, I don't call them the exact same names. :) I pretty much have a Daily 6 because I do all 5 plus guided group each day. I do use the maps to tell my kids where to go when but they have plenty of choice at each station. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!

How many centers do your students go to each day? Thanks
I purchased the Literacy Maps and Posters however when I click or double click to type in a different name it does not work. Can you please help?? Thanks!
Hi! Thank you for your purchase! Are you trying to type on the blank pages in the back of the packet? (You will not be able to edit the first set where I have already labeled the cards and posters.) You will need to click a few times directly under the picture to get the text box to appear. Please let me know if you are still having trouble.
