The students will research about a prominent African American person. The students will create a poster of and about their chosen person. The students will write a report which includes a brief biography, explanation of elements in their posters, and personal thoughts about their chosen person. Included in this lesson is the lesson plan, a sample project, a color poster, a list of prominent African Americans, and a project rubric.

I have 11 years of classroom experience teaching students of all elementary school ages. I have taught departmentalized classes of music, English, writing, computers, and art. I have taught remedial reading, writing, math, spelling, social studies, science, English. I have taught Language Arts to Gifted & Talented students ages 5-10.
