This physiology exercise will guide students through determination of a pulse rate and blood pressure and will instruct them in the various locations that a pulse rate can be taken.
Additionally, students will perform a practical experiment assessing the effect of physical activity on both pulse rate and blood pressure. Individual student results can be grouped for the whole class to demonstrate average effects of exercise on pulse and BP and also to help students understand statistical concepts of means and standard deviations.
This lab requires that you have stethoscopes and BP cuffs available for students to use. These are available from commercial biological supply and medical supply companies.
The free preview is the 1st of 3 pages of instructions. The purchased Word document can be modified as needed by the instructor.

Help
I have over 10 years of experience instructing students of various levels, ranging from advanced high school students to undergraduates to medical students. My training is in Anatomy & Physiology (Ph.D. in Anatomy), and in my most recent position I was instructing first year nursing students in A&P. The majority of my instructional items for sale are most appropriate for advanced high school students or early college students.
