We have all seen those cute pumpkins that match our favorite characters in stories. Why not have our students create these adorable pumpkins as an October Family Project!
Included in this freebie is 5 sample pictures (full color so if you don't have time to make a sample you can show them,) a parent letter, and 2 book report options.
The letter if free of Halloween and 100% educational!
Tips: Require a book report so you know what those random pumpkins are. Have your pumpkins due a few days before you present them. This will give time for those late ones and also give time to have the kids write stories about them in class.

We always do a Pumpkin Unit in our second grade team, including decorating our pumpkins. I LOVE the idea of basing it on a book character with a report. THANK YOU for sharing!!

I have taught for 9 years. Most has been in low-income areas and with second language learners. I have taught Kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, and technology. Kinder is where my heart is! I have also taught at the National I Teach Kindergarten conference in Las Vegas! I would say that was the highlight of my career, but how can you surpass teaching kids to read? =)
