This product consists of a reading comprehension worksheet (including a nonfiction passage on the life cycle of a pumpkin and 5 comprehension questions about the article) as well as the instructions for making an interactive 3D model of a pumpkin's life cycle. The model is created from a tennis ball, and detailed instructions, patterns, and pictures of the completed project are included. The passage is written on a 2nd to 3rd grade reading level. This activity has been successfully completed independently by 3rd through 5th grade students with special needs, but would work well for nondisabled elementary aged students as well as middle or hight school aged students with special needs.
