Game created for students to practice skills of finding perimeter and area. Game comes with gameboard, two different sets of game cards (for variation), recording sheet, and keys. To play, students draw a game card and plot those points on the grid, connect the lines and find the perimeter and area of the shape made. Then a partner checks their work. If P and A are correct, the player colors that plot of land in his or her color. When all game cards are used, play ends. Student with the largest area of the game board is the winner.

Does it matter if you use set one or set two? What exactly do I need to copy for each group of two?
I'm thinking of playing this game after I teach perimeter this week and again after I teach area. I'm thinking for this week the person with the greatest perimeter will win. Do you think this will work? THanks so much. Great resource.

It does not matter whether you use the cards from set one or two. There are two sets just so you can give different groups different sets. For each group of two, you will need to copy a game board, one set of cards, and one recording sheet. The recording sheet will need to be cut down the middle. It will be fine to just do the perimeter, then the area. Just tell your kids to ignore the line on the recording sheet that refers to area. I hope you enjoy the game!
