This is a continuation to the Pythagorean Theorem Lesson Plan.
This lesson uses the theorem for three different applications:
finding the distance between two points in a coordinate plane,
finding the diagonal in a polygon, and
using the Converse of the Pythagorean Theorem to determine if a triangle is a right triangle.
The lesson plan includes a warm-up, minilesson with guided steps through the process, examples, class activities and a worksheet for homework. Answer keys included.
Common Core standards included on cover page for Grade 8 and High School. I also have two other lessons posted in my store on the Pythagorean Theorem.
NOTE: You may need Equation Editor or MathType to make changes to some of the symbols.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been an educator for 8+ years with 6+ years in the New York City Public School system. I teach middle and high school math and science. I have also taught journalism.
