PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Practice talking about emotions in Spanish. Inspired by the Out of the Box game, Apples to Apples. Simple situations are presented and students express emotions about them. Easy to play for beginning students, more advanced students can be required to defend their answers, or to use more advanced grammar to express their opinions, such as: preterite/imperfect, conditional, past subjunctive with conditional, or reported speech.

Updated to include more emotions, more situations, and the tener phrases "tengo calor", "tengo frío", "tengo hambre", and "tengo sed."

This was exactly what I was looking for. No joke, I came to TPT looking for emotions and situations to go with them for my mixed-grade enrichment Spanish co-op class. To make it like Apples to Apples was genius. The kids really enjoyed playing the game. My 5 year old son and I played it our way too...and he usually resists learning Spanish! Wonderful all around.

I received two little posters to download and print when ordered this, not a game. One had a calabaza on it, one coca-cola. What happened?
On  March 12, 2012TeacherMichelle answered:
I have no idea how that would happen! You should have a nine-page pdf file-- no calabazas OR coca-colas! Try downloading it again, and please let me know if you don't get the right product! michelle.jolley@rsd.edu

On  April 12, 2010,  Jennifer M. asked:
My students are level one. Will this game be appropriate for them? I'm wondering if the situation cards are basic enough for them to understand them.

On  April 12, 2010TeacherMichelle answered:
I tried to use very basic phrases to create the game, and I have played it with Spanish 1 classes. I had to help them with a few of the situations. Maybe they could help you write some new situations using their current vocabulary! Good luck, and let me know how it goes!
