For a student to be considered a good reader they must go beyond decoding words. Without comprehension, students who are fluent decoders are just barking at the print. Questioning is a strategy good readers use to understand what is happening in a text before, during and after.
This huge unit includes everything you need to not only teach this strategy but review and revisit it throughout the year.

This is a great packet that helps guide students to think about questioning. I am working with special needs students in K and 1st so this is definitely going to help. I love the visual activities. thanks :)

Lots of great ideas. I believe if we can get them started on these strategies early, the comprehension scores will improve at a younger age. Imagine understanding what you are reading!!!!!
