Use these Revolutionary War flash cards (16 pages) of notable people of the War, as a review for assessments. They can be laminated but most of the time,students fold the papers in half, vertically so that just the name or "definition" is showing. They quiz each other in pairs or small groups. Other ideas for use of these cards are included.

Hi Khead. I'm very surprised by your comment and rating. My download preview gave you a good idea of what's in the packet. These are flashcards to be used as study tools or practice for tests/assessments. The information on the cards are a great lead into researching the people and events of the Revolutionary War. Nothing in my description states there are in depth activities.

Hi Elizwillis! What a great idea! My sister lives in Washington Crossing, PA, a short distance from where George Washington crossed the Delaware to attack the Hessians who were hired by the British. Every year, I tell her that we're going to bring the kids to her area for a field trip! What an experience that would be for all of us! Hi Ejwinter! Thank you so much for purchasing my Revolutionary War Flashcards! I love teaching the the War! My grandfather purchased one of Benedict Arnold's homes in Philadelphia and when he was doing some renovation to the old home, he came found the deed. It's been authenticated by historians and the amazing thing is that it was written on sheepskin because there was a shortage of paper at the time. I first saw the deed when I was about ten and ever since then I've loved researching that very important time of our history. I really appreciate your comment and rating! Have a great year!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been an elementary and middle school teacher for over 25 years in Connecticut. I also served on the Weekly Reader National Teacher Advisory Board as the Connecticut State Rep and appeared on "Good Morning, America" in 1993, to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Weekly Reader. I worked closely with the other state representatives and Weekly Reader's editorial, graphic arts and marketing departments. I was a NASA/Lockheed Martin Mission Systems "Student Signatures in Space" teacher for ten years. My students, Board of Ed, staff and others signed NASA posters that accompanied astronauts during space missions aboard the space shuttles. One of the posters was signed by all students in our school, teachers, parents and the Board of Ed. It returned from space, and was hung in the school's Media Center.
