Have you been told that you must "do" RTI? Yet have been given no direction, no training, no intervention resources or no progress monitoring tools? Then this is the packet for you. This packet is not the interventions, but this is the set of assessments you would use to progress monitor the number sense interventions you have in place. . In RTI, it's simply not enough to provide interventions to struggling students, we must have proof, with data points, to prove that the interventions are working (or in some cases, not working). No longer can teachers recommend a student for testing based on hunches, sixth senses and 35 years of classroom experience. This product helps a teacher accomplish the task of collecting the progress monitoring data points for interventions in the foundational numeracy skills of oral counting, identifying numbers, comparing numbers and ordering numbers, all skills in the Counting and Cardinality strand of the Common Core Mathematics for grades K and Number & Operations in Base 10 in grade 1. This packet is also ideal for interventionists, tutors or home school teachers of Kindergarten and first graders any teacher, interventionist, special education teacher, tutor or home school that works with 2nd or 3rd grade students reading at least one to two years below grade level.

Included in this product are the following:
1 - Quick Start Guide (1 page)
1 - Comprehensive Guide to RTI Progress Monitoring (10 pages)
25 - Progress Monitoring Probes for Counting Numbers
25 - Progress Monitoring Probes for Identifying Numbers 0-10
25 - Progress Monitoring Probes for Identifying Numbers 0-20
25 - Progress Monitoring Probes for Comparing Numbers 0-10
25 - Progress Monitoring Probes for Comparing Numbers 0-20
25 - Progress Monitoring Probes for Ordering Numbers 0-10
25 - Progress Monitoring Probes for Ordering Numbers 0-20
1- Teacher Graphs (editable)
7 - Student Data Graphs (one for each measure)
1 - RTI Summary Numeracy Intervention Sheet

In addition to the 175 progress monitoring probes (also known as CBM's) I have written a 10 page comprehensive guide to understanding the role, purpose and rationale of progress monitoring as an essential and necessary component of the RTI process from my experiences of implementing RTI for the past five years, in a very easy to read and understand format.

You are welcome to use this product with other teachers/interventionists on your team. If other teachers at other grade levels or schools are interested in these progress monitoring probes, please send them to my store at www.hellojenjones.com. This is my original work and I have put a lot of time, effort and energy into creating it.

Please be sure to download the preview file to get a snapshot of everything that's included in this Foundational Numeracy RTI Progress Monitoring product and "Follow Me" for future RTI uploads.

I have also created Progress Monitoring CBM's for Foundational Literacy interventions.

Thank you!
Jen Jones

Hi Jen,
I think this is fabulous. However, there are a couple of mistakes in the missing number category. My kinders brought it to my attention. (good to know they are paying attention) hehe. I just cross them out, but I just wanted you to know.
Sincerely,
A huge follower.....colleen

Thanks. I did make those Missing Number fixes when someone else brought it to my attention. You can redownload the bundle at your My Purchases tab. If after that, I still missed one, would you mind letting me know again? I appreciate huge followers more than you'll ever know? If there is, could you email me the typos?
Thanks a ton...Jen :-)

Hi! The entire file is "zipped" or compressed together because there are multiple (editable an uneditable) files together in the product. If your computer doesn't have an unzipping program already on it, then you can download a free one. I use "free unzipping program by PK Ware" - google that. Then, follow the directions for the free download. There are other free unzipping programs out there, like WinZip, but I prefer PKWare.

do you have benchmark assesments in here for 3rd grade math?

Hi! No, this bundle is not a benchmark bundle. These are CBM assessments to progress monitor early numeracy interventions, and mostly used to document math interventions you would be providing to students whose foundational area of need in math is at the Early Numeracy stage of Oral Counting, Number Identification, Quantity Discrimination, and Missing Number.

No. I'm sorry. I'm only the K-5 Reading Specialist/Coach for my school and RTI Coordinator for Literacy.

On the counting numbers response sheets, do you only cover counting by ones to 100 or do you also have counting by twos, fives, and tens? Thanks.

We only do counting by ones because that is nationally normed...if you want the norms I can get that for you, but you can do any type of progress monitoring with that is an area of weakness and they are receiving a daily intervention in counting by 5's or whatever you are progress monitoring. As you begin to do that for more students in your room, you'll get a "room norm."

Nancy,
My student has memorized the numbers! He can count to 10 (so far) BUT he doesn't understand that numbers represent how much of something you have. We count everything we see, I will orally ask for an amount of bears or whatever we are counting...Sometimes I get they correct amount - sometimes not! I need cardinality of a set, I need one-to- correspondence, I need the very basic tools. Do you have anything like this??? My students also receives RTI for reading, but math seems so much harder. Either you get it or you don't.

I will definitely work on a "basic" set...thanks for the feedback. Jen

Dear Mom2nickemma1,
You are so right! I created them and put them in the literacy file in error. I will re upload (tonight). If you leave your email address, I can send them to you.
