The study of living things is an important part of any preschool or early elementary science curriculum. This science experiment for young children is a fun way to help them understand what a rainforest is like. In making a tiny terrarium to take home, your class will see how the water cycle works first-hand. Maybe best of all, the project will last for a long time in a nice, sunny window. My pre-k class loves this project each year. I have included directions, a materials list, suggestions for rainforest-themed books, and even a printable handout for parents that details the project. If you like this product, please rate it, then visit my store for more science lessons for young children. Thanks. Kristin Berrier

I have worked in a preschool setting since 2004. At first, I was our preschool's librarian and resource teacher. I created many library lessons for my own use as well as many items specifically for our teachers. Since 2009, I have been teaching pre-k. My classes learn through hands-on, interactive activities that bring fun into the classroom.
